Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Blanca on Spain’s famous Costa del Sol, the city of Marbella is often referred to as the St Tropez of Spain. Since the 1950’s the city has drawn holidaymakers and expat residents to its fantastic beaches, golf courses and numerous attractions. Protected by mountains, Marbella enjoys a wonderfully mild climate and protected natural areas such as the Dunas de Artola, rich in diverse flora & fauna. Often voted as the most visited city in Spain, with its cosmopolitan character it has been a favourite haunt for the worlds rich and famous. There are glitzy boutiques, champagne bars, cocktail lounges, excellent shopping, Michelin Star restaurants and vibrant nightlife.

The Old Town is home to many historical buildings and monuments including the ancient city walls and famous Plaza de Naranja, a pretty setting surrounded by shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. There are small streets and lanes branching off from the plaza where visitors will find further bars, restaurants and a number of arts & crafts shops. Not far from the Old Town is La Alameda Park, a cool and inviting oasis of plants, trees and flowers. On a similar note, the city has a Bonsai Museum housing an outstanding collection of these miniature masterpieces from around the world.

Visitors to Marbella are never far from some sort of event, especially during the summer months when the city comes alive with flamboyant fiestas, music concerts, dance festivals and art exhibitions. There are also a choice of art museums and street markets. Worth a visit, if only to see how the ”other half” live is Marbella’s famous Golden Mile, actually 4 miles of exclusive and luxurious villas and mansions. The city boasts some 26 kilometres of coastline with lovely golden sand beaches and a picturesque promenade lined with bars and restaurants facing the sea. There is a fantastic selection of beach facilities, water sports, playgrounds, an amusement park and go-karting track. To the west of the port area is an official nudist beach in Marbella, and throughout the area a great choice of golf courses.
