Nudist Beach in San Pedro del Pinatar

San Pedro del Pinatar Area

Situated in the south of the beautiful Costa Blanca, San Pedro del Pinatar is a popular tourist destination in the Murcia region. Conveniently located close to San Javier airport and about an hour’s drive from the international airport of Alicante, that services a range of budget airlines from all over Europe and the United Kingdom. The town faces the calm waters of the Mar Menor where visitors can enjoy the fantastic beaches and shallow sea or take a walk along the promenade and marina. The town centre has a selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as various sporting facilities. For water sports, visitors can head to Mojon or the sports harbour at La Salinas.

The land around San Pedro and Murcia is extremely fertile and the agricultural areas produce much of the fruit and vegetables of the region. The rich soil is also evident in the famous mud baths of the Mar Menor, located at Lo Pagan and the Salinas Regional Park. The curative nature of mud bathing was discovered thousands of years ago and has been used to help cure many ailments. The high amount of beneficial minerals contained in these types of mud and clay can be used to help with broken bones, arthritis, rheumatism, gout, ulcers and much more. It is quite amusing when taking a walk along the promenade at Lo Pagan to see these ”Creatures of the Deep” covered from head to to in slowly drying mud !!

Nature enthusiasts can enjoy hiking the various marked trails through the salt marshes and sand dunes of the Salinas Regional Park, an area abundant in flora & fauna that is also home to a variety of wetland birds. Beach lovers can head to the dunes of Playa de la Torre Derribada or visit the nudist beach in San Pedro del Pinatar, where nude swimming and sun bathing are practised but not official, located near the headland of the bay.
