Barrika Area
Barrika is a small Uribe cliff village in Bizkaia, west of Sopela on the BI-2122, looking out over the Bay of Biscay. Official Basque tourism places it on the same green headland walk as the neighbouring surfing towns, a quieter stop than Getxo and a short hop from Metro Bilbao at Larrabasterra or Sopela. The village sits above the cliffs rather than on a long promenade. Visitors come for coastal walks, the views and two wilder strands that official Euskadi already names as nudist beaches. Bring shoes for the unmade cliff path, and do not expect a full set of town-beach services on either cove.
There are 2 nudist beaches in Barrika. Official Basque tourism calls Meñakoz a 400-metre nudist beach of pebbles with some sand, shared with Sopela, open to the sea and known as a powerful big-wave surf spot for experienced riders only. The same official sheet lists nudism among its services and notes that camping is banned. Muriola, also called La Cantera, is described by official Euskadi as a small nudist cove about ten minutes from the village, facing east and protected by cliffs, a wild mix of sand and rock with few services. Guía de Playas records both as practised naturist shores. The main village sand further along the cliff is not a child on this site. Follow the people around you, keep to the paths, and treat these as family-friendly public coves rather than a gated enclosure.
