Roquetas de Mar Area

Roquetas de Mar is the large Costa de Almería resort west of Almería city, a long built-up seafront of apartment blocks, a fishing and leisure harbour at Aguadulce, and the newer sands of Playa Serena. Official municipal tourism lists a string of urban beaches with daily summer cleaning, first-aid posts and a dedicated beach ambulance, from Aguadulce and Ventilla through Las Salinas, Romanilla and Bajadilla to the Urbanización and Serena. Children and adults alike will enjoy the promenades, the shops and the evening restaurants that make this one of Almería's busiest family holiday towns. Behind the western end of the shore lies the protected landscape of Punta Entinas-Sabinar, with dunes, hills and salt pans that are a refuge for wetland birds.

The longest municipal sand is Playa de Cerrillos, about 2,620 metres, inside that natural area. Official Roquetas copy presents it as the best-preserved, most natural beach in the municipality, preferred by people who want to walk the dunes rather than sit on a serviced front. The town hall has told the local press that Cerrillos is not a designated nudist beach and that dogs are not formally allowed there either, even though both uses are widely reported on the isolated stretch. This site does not yet list a beach page under Roquetas de Mar, so Cerrillos is named from official copy and is not linked here. Stay on signed paths in the protected area, and do not treat the urban Roquetas fronts as a naturist strip.
