Caló d’Es Morts
Caló d'Es Morts (Caló d'Es Mort) is a tiny cove at the south-eastern end of the Migjorn coast, under sandstone (marès) cliffs. Official tourism describes a small sheltered strip of sand on clear turquoise water, with traditional escars (boat slipway huts) to one side. The Guía de Playas measures about 30 by 15 metres and notes fine sand mixed with pebbles, large rounded stones and Posidonia wrack that often lines the shore after storms.
You reach it on foot along a cliff-top path. The Consell warns of rockfall risk, so this is not a casual pushchair outing. There are no facilities: carry water, food and sun protection. Neighbouring Es Arenals is a little over a kilometre away if you need a café, parking or a more open sandy swim.
Naturism is listed and the secluded character means clothing-optional use is common among those who make the walk. Footwear is essential on the approach and on the mixed shore. Give other visitors room; the sand patch is small.
Do not climb unstable cliff edges for photos, and leave the escars undisturbed. In unsettled weather choose Arenals instead.
