Tramuntana here means the central north-facing coastal fringe of Formentera, running among traditional fishermen's shelters. The Guía de Playas describes about 2,000 metres where sand is scarce toward the west and more plentiful near Ses Platgetes. Rock, gravel and sand mix along the shore. It forms part of the wider Migjorn-Tramuntana natural interest coast recognised in Balearic planning.

Ses Platgetes, by Es Caló, is the sandy pocket official tourism mentions most often on this side: small sandy breaks among low rocks in a quiet setting. Es Caló's harbour and restaurants sit close by if you need food or shade. Access is by foot or car to scattered points; there is no single mega-parking bay for the whole listing.

Naturism is listed and local guides often mention Ses Platgetes and the quieter Tramuntana pockets as clothing-optional friendly precisely because they draw fewer day-trip crowds than Illetes. Still, behave by what you see on the day, especially near the village of Es Caló where families and diners gather.

Footwear helps on the rocky links, and an easterly can put chop on this shore.
