Santa Cruz de Bezana Area
Situated in northern Spain, Santa Cruz de Bezana is a municipality in the autonomous community of Cantabria which is also considered an outer lying suburb of Santander by some, depends whether you’re selling houses I would think. There are good transport links to the area, with a nearby international airport and the major Santander ferry crossing to Portsmouth and Plymouth in the United Kingdom. There are a selection of amenities, shops, bars and restaurants, and the nearest beaches are a few kilometres away at Mortera, Liencres and Soto de la Marina. The bay near Mortera is extremely picturesque and among the coves and inlets there is an official nudist beach in Santa Cruz de Bezana. For all your other needs, the large port city of Santander has it all.
Santander is an important business hub for the region and is home to some large private and public organisations such as Grupo Santander and Banco Santander, the country’s largest bank and corporation. Its fabulous bay is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world and the surrounding sea and mountains are captivating. The modern part of the city is not the most charming but there is so much to see and many trendy shops, boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants. Cantabria has huge archaeological importance, and this can be explored in the city’s elegant archaeological and pre-history museum that has some fantastic showcases, written and multimedia displays, and a handy hint, it’s free on Sundays. The Península de la Magdalena is a lovely place to visit and offers great views, a charming little tourist train, welcoming parkland, resident penguins and seals, and even the Palacio de la Magdelena that was built in the early 1900’s as a gift from the city to the royal family who used it as their summer residence.
