Deltebre Area
Deltebre is the main town on the northern hemicycle of the Ebro Delta, in the Baix Ebre. It is a twentieth-century municipality created from the delta settlements, surrounded by rice fields, canals and lagoons that belong to the Ebro Delta Natural Park and to the wider Terres de l'Ebre UNESCO biosphere reserve. Official notes on the reserve stress birds, a large share of European waterbird species on passage, rice agriculture and a landscape that is both natural and worked. The town is low, practical and spread out: bicycles, the river ferry toward the south hemicycle, and long straight lanes through the paddies. Visitors come for hides, the river mouth, the Fangar spit and empty sand, not for a high-rise promenade. Amposta, Tortosa and the AP-7 are the inland links; Reus Airport is the nearest commercial field on the Costa Daurada side.
Stay on marked tracks. Dune and lagoon closures are for nesting and erosion. There are 2 nudist beaches in Deltebre, La Marquesa and Punta del Fangar, long open public shores on the north-delta sand where visitors can spend quiet days among dunes, wind and sky. Neither is a city beach. Take water, sun protection and a clear plan for the tide and the wind. Pair the sand with a bicycle loop through the paddies or a hide visit if you want the full delta day.
