Nudist Beaches in Altea
Situated approximately 10 kilometres north of Benidorm on the popular Costa Blanca, lies the pretty town of Altea, easily recognised by its majestic church with a colourful blue and white tiled dome roof. Consisting of an old and new town with a Tuesday market and tram station. Near the town’s beaches are a marina and promenade offering a selection of dining choices. The old town is full of character with steep cobbled lanes, charming arts & crafts shops, cafe’s, bars and restaurants. From the top of the hill where the church and plaza are located, there are some stunning views of the mountains and beautiful Mediterranean sea.
For a fun day out without the hassle of driving or finding parking, take the tram to Benidorm. Here you will find hundreds of shops, boutiques, cafe’s, bars and restaurants. There are several beaches and some fantastic attractions such as the Mundomar aquatic & wildlife park, Aqualandia water park and Terra Mitica theme park. Benidorm also offers go-karting, quad biking, sports centres and a whole host of water sports. With the abundance of restaurants and takeaways in the city, visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to dining, and throughout the city there are still some Traditional Spanish bars where customers are served a free tapas with their drinks order.
The mouth of the Algar river empties into the Bay of Altea, and just a short drive from the town is the beautiful Algar Waterfalls. A series of cascading falls and natural pools where brave visitors can enjoy a dip in the icy mountain waters. There are winding and sometimes steep walkways dotted with picture perfect picnic spots. Near the top of the climb is a small museum and interesting cactus garden with a wide variety of cacti species. Altea is a good destination for golfers with the 18 hole Don Cayo golf course nearby and a good selection of other courses within an hour’s drive. For the more adventurous there are 3 official nudist beaches in Altea, located north of the town near Pueblo Mascarat.
