Calp Area
Calp (Calpe) is the Marina Alta town on the northern Costa Blanca, instantly recognised by the Peñón de Ifach, the limestone rock that rises from the sea and gives the municipality its natural park. Official Comunitat Valenciana tourism and the town hall tourism office sit beside that rock, with the long sands of La Fossa and Arenal-Bol to either side and a working harbour between them. Visitors arrive from Alicante-Elche airport or along the AP-7 and N-332. Children and adults alike will enjoy the promenade beaches, the salt lakes behind the town and a walk at the foot of the park, remembering that the summit path needs a booked permit and is not a beach day for small children.
There is 1 nudist beach in Calp, Cala del Penyal, the small natural cove at the foot of the north face of Ifach. Official Comunitat Valenciana tourism describes it as a virgin cala suitable for diving and fishing. It does not, on the sheet used here, add a statutory nudist designation. The cove is rocky, narrow and reached by a path rather than a promenade, so wear shoes, expect no urban services, and read the people around you. Keep La Fossa and the harbour sands as family holiday fronts. The Peñón is a protected park: stay on signed tracks and do not scramble the cliffs.
