Arteixo lies immediately west of A Coruña, where the Gulf of Ártabro gives way to a more open Atlantic coast toward Barrañán. Official turismo.gal walking copy describes a blue path from Praia de Alba to Barrañán, linking the municipal sands on foot or by bicycle, with rest points and panels on the shore. The route passes less-known coves such as Area Salsa, Repibelo, Herbosa and Area Grande (Valcobo) before arriving at Combouzas (nudist). From there the path looks on to the long sand of Barrañán, where tourist services are listed. Alvedro airport sits just inland. Children and adults alike will enjoy the family beaches and the evening drive back into A Coruña.

It is a public shore for lazy days in the sun, a favourite with those who prefer a little more privacy than Barrañán. The main Arteixo and Barrañán fronts remain family and holiday sands. Stay on the marked path, and do not treat the whole municipal coast as a single naturist strip.
