Porto do Son Area
Porto do Son sits on the northern shore of the ría of Muros-Noia, where the Barbanza meets a more open Atlantic coast toward Castro de Baroña. Official Galician tourism presents the municipality for that Iron Age castro on its rocky peninsula, for the fishing harbour and for a long string of sands between Xuño, Serra de Outes and the ría. The town itself is compact; the beaches are spread along the coast road. Visitors arrive by the AC-550 from Noia or Ribeira. Children and adults alike will enjoy the harbour, the castro walk and the family sands closer to the village.
The imported pages on this site sit on that Atlantic edge rather than on the inner ría. There are 5 nudist beaches in Porto do Son, Area Longa, Areas Longas, Recaveira, Serans and Xuño. They are public sands for lazy days in the sun, a favourite with those who prefer a little more privacy than the harbour front. Wear shoes on the rockier walks, expect mixed use, and do not treat the whole Porto do Son shore as a single naturist strip.
