Ribeira is the working fishing port at the tip of the Barbanza, where the ría of Arousa meets the open Atlantic. Official Galician tourism presents the municipality for its harbour, for the Corrubedo dune system and for a coast of long sands and granite headlands. The town is one of Galicia's important fish-auction ports; the beaches lie west and south of the centre, toward Aguiño and the Corrubedo natural park. Visitors arrive by the VG-4.1 from Padrón or the AC-550 from Porto do Son. Children and adults alike will enjoy the harbour, the dunes and the family sands closer to the town.

There is 1 nudist beach in Ribeira, Espiñeirido, an imported page on the more broken shore rather than a marked enclosure. It is a public corner for lazy days in the sun, a favourite with those who prefer a little more privacy than the main Ribeira fronts. Read the people around you, expect mixed use, and do not treat the whole Barbanza seafront as a single naturist strip.
