Cangas is the principal town of the Morrazo, on the northern shore of the ría of Vigo, with a working harbour and a short hop by boat to Vigo. Official turismo.gal copy places the Costa da Vela at the western tip of the peninsula, an untouched world of pines, cliffs and clear water between the rías of Vigo and Pontevedra. The same page names the sunset from the Cabo Home lighthouse, the cliffs of Donón, more than 150 metres high, and Melide beach looking toward the Cíes, then, now in the estuary of Vigo, the idyllic beaches of Nerga and Barra, the latter nudist, with pines that reach almost to the sand. Visitors arrive by the PO-551 or the Cangas ferry. Children and adults alike will enjoy Rodeira, the harbour and the walks at Cabo Home.

It is a public shore for lazy days in the sun, a favourite with families who prefer a little more privacy than Rodeira. The approach is a track through the pines from the Donón road; the car park fills in summer. Nerga and the town beaches remain family fronts. Stay on the paths in the protected space, and do not treat the whole Morrazo as a single naturist strip.
