La Oliva Area

La Oliva is the large northern municipality of Fuerteventura, stretching from the inland town of La Oliva to the resort and fishing shores of Corralejo and El Cotillo. Official tourism sells Fuerteventura as the beach island of the Canaries, and this municipality holds much of the Corralejo dune country, a natural park of pale sand against volcanic islets. El Castillo in the Guía names is the castle-end of that shore. Visitors fly into Fuerteventura Airport and drive the FV-1 north, or take the frequent buses to Corralejo. Children and adults alike will enjoy the wide family sands, the harbour and the wind that makes the north a favourite for kites and boards.

There are 28 nudist beaches in La Oliva, the largest municipal list on this site. The Guía records nudism as practised on all of them; most are isolated park or country sands rather than a single marked enclosure. Marfolín is the one semi-urban exception in the inventory. Longer park strands include El Viejo, Alzada, Los Martos and Medano. Playa de Esquinzo and Playa del Tebeto sit toward the El Cotillo side. Stay on signed tracks in the dunes, and keep the busy Corralejo town beach as the textile family front unless you have walked far enough to see that practice has changed.
