Teguise Area

Teguise was the historic capital of Lanzarote, a white inland town of convents and a Sunday market, with a municipal coast that now includes Costa Teguise, the great cliff bay of Famara, and the Chinijo islands. Official PROMOTUR copy treats La Graciosa as the eighth Canary Island, a small sandy neighbour reached by ferry from Órzola, still without an airport. Alegranza is an uninhabited islet in the same archipelago. The LZ-1 and LZ-10 serve the town; Famara is the surf and wind bay under the Risco. Charco del Palo's southern edge crosses into Teguise from Haría.

There are 21 nudist beaches in Teguise. The Guía lists nudism as practised on all of them. Famara is the long cliff-backed sand. Charco del Palo (Charca natural) is the Teguise-side natural pool of the naturist village. La Graciosa pages include Las Conchas, Lambra and La Cocina. Isla de la Alegranza is boat-only. Famara village and Costa Teguise's main resort sands remain family fronts. Crossing to La Graciosa means a ferry, no cars in the usual island sense, and park rules; check the operator and the park notice before you go.
