Nudist Beaches in Villajoyosa
Villajoyosa Area
Situated between the popular cities of Alicante and Benidorm, on the beautiful Costa Blanca, is the historic town of Villajoyosa. The town is conveniently situated less than a 40 minute drive from the international Alicante airport that services many budget airlines. The party city of Benidorm is just 5 kilometres away and offers fantastic night life with hundreds of bars, restaurants and clubs. There are also exciting theme parks, aqua parks and a wildlife park.
The English translation of Villajoyosa means joyful town and if you are a chocolate lover you will certainly be joyful as the area is renowned for its chocolate industry. There are tours of the Valor chocolate factory where you can watch the intricate process involved in producing the chocolates, and of course sample the wares. Mandarina Blue Tours also offer a combined fishing village and chocolate factory tour. With the assistance of a tour guide you will get to visit the historical town centre with its colourful houses and sea promenade before visiting the chocolate factory. You will then make your way to the lovely fishing town of Altea, where after a stop for lunch, you can explore the quaint cobbled streets, picturesque houses, winding alleyways and local craft shops.
Running through Villajoyosa is the river Amadori and two scenic walks, one called Xarco walk which heads south after crossing the river and the other called Cala walk which goes north. Both walks reward visitors with sea views and historical sites such as the Roman funeral tower and the shrine of the Virgin de la Salud. One of the most popular tourist attractions is the Catholic Church of the Assumption which is Gothic in design with a Baroque altar piece. The town offers three kilometres of beaches including the Central Beach and El Paradis beach along with two official nudist beaches in Villajoyosa.
