Candelaria is the basilica town of Tenerife, on the east coast south of Santa Cruz, where the image of the Virgin of Candelaria, patron of the Canary Islands, draws island-wide pilgrimage each August. Official tourism treats the waterfront plaza of bronze guanche statues and the basilica as a family outing from the capital or the south airport. The TF-1 runs behind the town. The everyday mood is local and religious rather than a purpose-built resort. Outside feast days the seafront is an ordinary Canarian promenade of ice cream, playgrounds and a look at the boats.

There is 1 nudist beach in Candelaria, Playa de Punta Larga, an urban sand and boulder shore of about 230 metres that the Guía lists as practised for nudism, with car access. It is a public town sand, not a fenced naturist club. The basilica plaza and the main family stretches stay clothed. Check the local mood before you undress on a feast day.
