Los Llanos de Aridane is the largest town on La Palma's west side, a commercial plaza town on the Aridane plain of bananas and lava, with the Caldera de Taburiente rising behind. Official PROMOTUR copy still calls La Palma the isla bonita, a steep biosphere-reserve island of laurel and pine. The airport and Santa Cruz de La Palma lie on the east; the road over or around the island is part of the visit. Children and adults alike will enjoy the town square, a walk in the banana belt, and a calmer pace than south Tenerife.
There is 1 nudist beach in Los Llanos de Aridane, Las Monjas, an isolated sand and boulder pocket of about 50 metres that the Guía lists as practised for nudism, in a protected landscape and biosphere reserve, with easy foot access. It is not the town swimming pool. The 2021 west-side eruption changed roads and coastline in this part of the island; check local advice before you set out, and do not treat the everyday Puerto Naos or town fronts as naturist strips unless you can see that practice on the day.
