Calonge i Sant Antoni is a Baix Empordà municipality with two faces: the inland medieval town of Calonge, with its castle, and the seaside district of Sant Antoni de Calonge on the bay between Palamós and Platja d'Aro. Official Costa Brava copy treats Sant Antoni as a large tourist resort on sand, and Calonge as the historic inland core. The tourist office is on Avinguda Catalunya in Sant Antoni. The castle and the old streets of Calonge are a short drive or bus ride from the beach. Sant Antoni has a promenade, campsites and a family seafront that fills in July and August. Girona-Costa Brava Airport and the C-31 and C-66 are the usual approaches; there is no station in the municipality.

The camí de ronda toward Palamós and Torre Valentina is the walking way to leave the main sand. There is 1 nudist beach in Calonge, Roques Planes, a rockier corner off the long resort beach where visitors can go for an all over tan a little away from the promenade crowds. Expect mixed use and summer traffic on the approach. The castle, the evening paseo and the neighbouring fishing port of Palamós make an easy pairing if you want more than a single cove day.
